That weird, there guys here in durbs that do it. Guessing you not going for any aftermarket stuff.lol. Suggest if you gonna buy one, make sure ot working first, these clusters notorious for giving up. Maybe check few scrap yards, never kn0w. Wish you luck.

So i'm guessing the speedo works, but the rev gauge isn't calibrated properly for the 2l? You could fit a aftermarket speedo only.

Check this out, saw it on vortex. You can use the digital speedo for now, it works, i tried it on my car. My cluster has a life of its own, the speedo and rev gauge, works when it feels like.lol.

i got this from vw vortex forums.. so it is quoted from there..

1. Turn your key to the on position (do not start the car).
I waited until all the lights and beeping calmed down and the gas guage registed
2. Push down the trip computer button
3. Turn the key off while still holding the trip button down
Again I waited until all the lights stopped and the gas gauge went back to "E"
4. With the button still supressed, start the car.
5. Release the button and cycle through the different functions.

Mine reset to regualr speedo/trip functions the next time I started the car.

I don't know what all the functions do I put the what my car read out below.
Hopefully somebody who knows will post and tell us what everything is reading out.

Function = Read out

1 = 6214 (no idea what this is)
2 = 4 (no idea what this is)
3 = 31470 (for some reason I have seen this number before, maybe on my ECU)
4 = 4 (no idea) >Edit< mine shows 6 >jon baker<
5 = Lights all the LCDs in the guage to see that they work
6 = 0 >Edit< this counts either distance or revolution of front axles. not sure >jon baker<
7 = Digital tackometer >edit< also plays with your fuel gauge >jon baker<
8 = Trip counter

the display will reset after you turn off your car...

basically, after you do as told, the number zero will appear, click the trip button till you get to 7 and you now have a digital rev gauge.lol.
