i noticed when you trading ur vehicle u get more -

Like for my mk3 gti - i could reasonably ask was 18K ish private sale (car was old model one of the 1st and 8v)

but when i traded my vehicle in i got 35K cause the car i wanted to buy was priced way higher...so that can count either against you or count for you. :bounce:

Good find. Much more accurate than the other one linked, which gives values way higher.

I tested two cars, one came out very close to the retail value I got and the other was close to trade, so I don't know which value this site gives. I did it from my phone though. Maybe it gives more detail from a PC.

Hey krakes. Nah. There's only the one value. I'm thinking its retail value.

Yes I know. I said I'm not sure because this is what I got:

Car #1: Insured retail value R120 400
Car #1: Result from website R122 000

So that was very close, then I did this:

Car #2: Insured retail value: R66 000
Car #2: Result from website R55 000

The second one is closer to m&m trade value, because market, which is the average between retail and trade comes out to about R63 000. So trade is ballbark in that range.

That is why I'm confused a bit on which value it actually kicks out.
BUT it is much more trustworthy that that bookvalue.co.za which totally overshoots the value of the car

So brilliant find, I was looking for something like this when I was car hunting.
I'll do a valuation on a third car, which I remember the retail value for and see what it gives.

Nice find supey - thread updated.

I thinks this is pretty accurate, when comparing it to market prices - not dealer trade though.. those etters offered me 125K for the mk5 about 2 months ago when I looked at an edition 35

What value did you get now?
I just did a few more, doing it on the PC gives the option of adding in mileage as well and it recalculates the value.
I come to the conclusion that it gives an approximate market value.
I agree it is pretty accurate. Useful tool :thumleft:

Bookvalue.co.za is crap man  gave me close to R100k for the mk4, or something very silly.
I compared the zoopa values to insured values and they are close enough.

Well. At least its a good guide for us to use. Either that, or go and buy the R3500 book, which refreshes every year. Lol

I too made my slice by checking that bookvalue site and when i asked for a evaluation, the b@stardos ended up offering me R75k for the 2007 1.6 trendline with fsh and 112kms and bookvalue says 90 trade in value.

So the Pgti is still good for R130k Pvt sale :salut:
