3500w dvc sub sealed vs ported?

Postby virus00 on Tue Apr 19, 2011 6:35 pm

I have a 3500w dvc sub in a sealed box, on a 2700w monoblock
Just wondering if i should port this box or not?
Or buy a ported box?

Also how much of a difference will it make inside the car(jetta)?

Sealed is going to sound cleaner, Ported is going to be louder. Your Choice.

Go ported and run the port through the rear parcel shelf  ...this massively increases the sound level inside a car with a boot (Jetta) as, otherwise, it is quite sealed in there and you would hear mostly rattles (unless of course you have treated the entire boot to sound deadening material)!
