i think its gud you can run windows inside it ,but you have to use virtual box.cool thing about using virtual box is you can have multiple os systems and also if it messes up its a 5min installation because you can use a image

I was gonna use it, installed an everything, but my pc not fast enuff for compiz Fusion ... so yah, I haven't used it in a while. U can use windows apps within it via WINE ... plus it get's complicated, to a point that u'll have to have programming skills to get ur hardware to work. :pale:

I'm thinking of using it on a netbook. The netbook will only be used for browsing and some series. No gaming. I guess I could do a dual boot as well. I made a live usb and played around with it a bit, but just wanted some other opinions.

I guess I will give it a proper go when the netbook arrives.
Seems like a reasonable alternative which is less resource sapping. Any other opinions welcome :thumleft:

Rather get a windows copy bra. U'll find ubuntu very strenouis. Its like a mansion with all the furniture scattered. U'll struggle to roam around. Like I said, u'll struggle to ge t some hardware to work etc. Rather do a dualboot. That's what I did. And then u partition ur drive into 3. One for storage, 1 for ubuntu, and 1 for windows. U can even rearange ur partition with a partition manager after the install. But I really want compiz fusion. Also wanted a nice downloader from usenet that can run a rss, but the ones on ubuntu are too complicated
