Re: My R-Sportline Polo TDI....IC Vent MOD

Postby poloplayaWP on Mon Sep 10, 2012 10:31 am

Hi guys it.s been a while. So the past weekend decided to do the IC vent mod as I am not planning to do FMIC very soon. It took approximately 2 hours +/- but was not that hard. The hardest part was cutting the liner , that sh!t is hard to cut. There were a total of
19 screws that need to be removed but think it might be 2 or 4 less as I have the factory fitted R-Line Skirts and front Spoiler+spacer as can be seen in the pic.The vent has definitely helped as I can gun the car for longer then before so it has definitely help a bit with heat soak.FMIC is first prize but any help in the reduced heat on a diesel is a plus.Comments welcome.

This is the base for what I used as the vent.

I then cut it out to the shape and size I wanted.

I then proceeded to remove the arch liner.

I then made a dodgy stencil for cutting out the section where I would mount the vent.

I then did a test fit and finally fitted completed product. I still need to plastidip everything to colour the screws as well as maybe silicone the surround of the vent to make it neater.

I was considering that but because of the "vent/port" structure in front of intercooler, water will gather and eventually seep in front of driver side wheel and coz hectic traction issues......like I don't have enough or that already lol.
