Project Eurostyle Vento - R.I.P

Postby GT'79 on Fri Sep 11, 2009 12:40 pm

I got the car for about 8weeks now, a nice little project i'm busy with and just sorted out all the minors for roadworthy today.

'96 2.0 8v CLi

Branch, 57mm exhuaust and 272 cams (got it as is for 17geez)

Replaced the bushes on left lower control arm and ball joints. Would have done the same to the driver side but came across a bent and cracked arm  and then i had to replace the entire arm.

The bolt that runs through the starter to the front engine mounting was not even there (no wunda the engine was "rukking")

All the brakes had about a cm of pad left (replaced it with new ones), cambelt had it's days (also replaced) and the plugs hardly had any spark (spent 30min cleaning and drying it with a blow dreyer  - worked perfect)

the guy i bought it from had 3 breather pipes hanging in the bay and the pipe (think for cold start) was blocked off with a cylinder valve :? (thinking to myself what the Moer did this guy catch on)

Oh and then recently i replaced the windscreen and the car was raised from 60mm to standard (looking like a damn landrover)

Then i also noticed that the rear shock rubbers (rubber stopper that fits over shock shaft was gone - both sides) - Replaced that also and no more rattling sound as this can frustrate the SH*T out of a person

Anyways, still busy with some fault finding and getting my suspension sorted out (will be fitting adjustables and front and rear struts for now)

CO's?
Replaced cam this morning and it's so much better, better idling, car doesn't die anymore.
Next plan is replacing engine with a redone 2e with mp9 and 272 cam from stk, might just get me the complete mp9 kit from them

Yoh,i was in a accident this morning at tygervalley robots dropping my mom off at work.oil in the road, hit the breaks, car gliding on the tar into a millenium tazz
Toy rear bumper is 'geknak' at the corners and left tail light out,my car on the other hand looks f*k'd up! Headlights, bumper grille and bonnet in its moer, car drives fine still, just the alarm is messed up.

Sorry to see that. Those tazz's must have strong back bumpers. My buddy drove into one his car looked worse than yours and the toyota had a few scratches.
